Logan Blondell made quite a statement on the front nine Monday in the final round of the 49th annual Youth Villa Classic at Bartow Golf Course, going out in 4-under after an eagle on No. 6 and a chip-in birdie on No. 9.
The 21-year-old from Lakeland endorsed that statement by running off five straight birdies starting on the ninth hole, ending the string with a 30-foot putt across the green on the par-3 13th hole to reach 8-under for the day.
And the Georgia Southern senior filed the title away in the record books by closing with a 6-under-par 66, cruising to a four-shot victory over 36-hole leader Jaren Goode.
