Bartow High School cheerleaders perform their winning routine at the first Florida High School Athletics Association state competition in history. The Dept. of Education recognized competitive cheerleading as a sport this year. There were 43 teams in the non-tumbling division. Thirty teams were cut after the semifinals, where the BHS cheerleaders took first place and never let it out of their grasp. - (Photo provided)
